Second time Spain Federetion dressed with Adidas for world cup tournament, the red/blue combination is a pretty one kit despite adidas diamonds pattern that is considered one of the worst adidas designs. May notice that the shorts adidas logo is on top of the diamond pattern causing visual noise, and worse in the white kit the logo embroidery is in red on top of a red diamond.....what happend with the adidas designer????
Actually Spain used Adidas jerseys during World Cup 1978 and 1982.
ReplyDeleteHalf the reason my friend, Spain played with a kit with no brand in 1978, you can see here:

and you are correct, in 1982 played with adidas....
i must edit that text. thank you
Do you know if they played with no brand in the euro cup 1980 ?
ReplyDeleteI have seen a picture of Vicente Del Bosque in a Spain track top that did`nt seem to have any brand on it.

I just found a picture on the Old Football Shirts homepage of a Spain jersey from 1981. It doesen`t have any brand logo on it but in the neck there is a small Adidas tag. Do you think that the spanish federation had the same kind of weird regulations that the italian federation had regarding brand logos on their shirts ?
ReplyDeleteactually, i remind that 1966 world cup kits worn by Spain were made by Umbro
DeleteYou can bet on it. But let me tell you that on those years the economical and influence power of the brands aren't the same we are familiar today. 1994 WC left a mark in the kits merchandising, example of this, is the last name of the player in the top of the back shirt and the number in the front shirt and short, and of course.... the visibility of brand name.
